Plantar fasciitis is an inflammation of the plantar fascia. “Plantar” means “bottom”; so it indicates the bottom of the foot. “Fascia” is a band of fibrous connective tissue enveloping, separating, or binding together muscles, organs, and other soft structures of the body.
